world peace
Blake???? asked:

I have to write a speech on world peace in the ” i have a dream” style. i need some ideas it has to be 150-200

this is what i have so far. anything would help.

I have a dream that one day we could live in a world without fear of war. I have a dream that one day we could live in peace and harmony. We are all humans and most of us want similar things in life but in our world today we face a problem of violence. I don’t understand why people fight. The only thing that comes from fighting is pain. Pain isn’t worth fighting for.

I like where you are going with this…But you must remember that World Peace is a dream, and always will be…

Now, I know that sounds very negative, but there is a point that I think you will like…Despite the fact that World Peace is a dream, a distant land that we will never reach, we must never stop tryingg to get there. For the beauty is not in the perfection of the unobtainable, but rather, in our persistence in trying to obtain it.

To quote Johnny Clegg “Spirit is the journey…The body is the bus.”

My opinion is that a human’s brain is large enough to create world peace. Now whether or not they can overcome vain bickering and truly try to help each other remains to be seen. People have been conditioned to believe that world peace is not possible, but it is. They have to learn how to stop initiating violence.

The strength to overcome those who want to harm others. The power of example to be respected.
