The majority of economists along with the Feds have debunked the Republicans theory that Jimmy Carter and the Community Investment Act of 1977 had anything to do with the Housing Crisis and in fact this crisis was mainly caused by greed of speculators and not poor people buying homes they could not afford. Why do Republicans just tell the truth and admit it was greed? The majority of these mortgages that are bad were written from 2002-2005 and were not for first time home buyers but speculators.
